Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has multiple variants sold in different global markets. These variants have unique identifiers in the shape of model numbers. For instance, variants sold in Korea have model numbers SM-N950N while those in the U.S. and Canada get model numbers SM-N950U and SM-N950W, respectively. If you are in China and Hong Kong, your Note 8 has either model number SM-N9500 or SM-N9508 and as for the rest of the world, you get model number SM-N950F.
Samsung started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo to the Galaxy Note 8 in mid-March 2017, but this was only directed to the global variant with model number SM-N950F. A couple of weeks later, those using the Korean variant with model number SM-N950N joined the party alongside their American and Canadian counterparts.
Today, the remaining variants of the Galaxy Note 8 are now getting Oreo. These are Note 8 variants with model numbers SM-N9500 and SM-N9508, which, as we already know, are sold in China and Hong Kong. Where those in China are receiving an update with software version N9500ZCU2CRD5, those in Hong Kong are on update version N9500ZHU2CRD5. Besides Oreo, you also get April 2018 security patches and the usual system improvements and bug fixes. Â

The latest developments mean that it has taken Samsung about a month to finish rolling out Oreo updates to the Note 8, however, it’s likely that your handset may still wait longer because, well, carriers!
In short, the matter is now out of Samsung’s hands and from now on, it’s your carrier that will determine how fast or rather when your Galaxy Note 8 will be updated to Android Oreo. Hopefully, for those who haven’t received the update, the wait won’t be long.
