AT&T Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL get HD Voice Calling with Android 8.1 update

Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL users on AT&T network are getting a much asked-for feature with the Android 8.1 Oreo update.

Google recently seeded the Android 8.1 Oreo update for the Pixel 2 devices, and AT&T users are now beginning to get it. The update includes HD Voice Calling support, something that wasn’t present before on the AT&T variants.

If you’re on the AT&T network and own the new Pixel 2 devices, then you should be seeing the new update now. The HD Voice Calling feature is present in Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Networks. A new Advanced Calling button is available now.

This feature allows for HD voice calls when you’re in a area where there’s HD Voice coverage. It also lets you use the LTE data while you’re on a call.

Android Wear Oreo update now rolling out

Apart from this important inclusion, the Android 8.1 OTA update enables the dormant Pixel Visual Core chipset, installs the latest December security patch, fixes various touch and audio related bugs, and also has the updated navigation bar animation that will help reduce screen burn-in issue on the Pixel 2 XL.
