HTC U11 first hands-on video shows off Edge Sense

HTC U11

HTC U11 has been in the news for a long time now. And, we can’t deny the fact that all of us have been waiting to get a peek at how the squeezable frame will work. It seems like the wait is over.

Roland Quandt posted a hands-on video of the HTC U11 on Twitter which shows off the functionalities of the squeezable frame or Edge Sense (as the company calls it.

As it can be seen in the video, a simple squeeze will allow you to capture images as well as selfies, open the camera from lock screen, launch Google Assistant, and much more. On top of all of that, you can also set up the squeeze force level based on your preferences.

We must agree that squeezing the metal frame to capture images looks quite intuitive. We will, of course, have to wait until the smartphone officially launches to see if the functionality works without any issues.

When it comes to design, the smartphone looks pretty similar to the HTC U Ultra. And yes, there won’t be a near bezel-less display on the front, unlike other flagships. There’s also a home button right below the display which could also integrate the fingerprint scanner.

As for the specs, the device will be powered by a Snapdragon 835 chipset and 6GB of RAM. It will boot Android 7.1.1 Nougat with a layer of HTC’s custom skin above it.
