At a time when folks in the U.S. have just started enjoying Android 8.0 Oreo on their Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge handsets, those north of the country are also wondering when they’ll get the same OS on the 2016 pair. Well, Rogers and Fido have some answers for you.

According to the Canadian duo, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will begin receiving Android Oreo on June 11, which is this coming Monday. This comes more than a month since the first S7 units started receiving the OS in Europe, but given the fact that these are carrier variants, this delay was inevitable.

So far, these are the regions that have received Oreo on the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge:

Region Status
UK Released for Unlocked, Vodafone (April 30)
Ireland Released on Vodafone (April 30)
USA Released on Verizon (June 7) and AT&T (June 9)
Canada Released (June 11)
India Released (June 8)
Nordic countries Released (May 29)
United Arab Emirates Released (June 8)
South Korea Released (May 24)

Also on the receiving end of Android Oreo update on both carriers is the Galaxy A5 2017. The OS will be rolled out on the same date as the S7 twins, although it’s only Rogers that has confirmed this date. As for Fido, the OS will roll out this month. It’s worth noting that the Galaxy A5 2017 got to Oreo way ahead of the Galaxy S7, but this was in Europe where Samsung usually begins its software updates.

The updates will be rolling out over the air and thus, it may take up the entire week before all users of the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and Galaxy A5 2017 receive the OTA.
