Galaxy Xcover 3 VE, Xcover 4 and Galaxy Tab A 2016 receiving updates with March/April security patches

Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4

The past few weeks have been quite busy for Samsung. The company has been rolling out software updates left, right and center, and the latest to join the party are the Galaxy Xcover 3 VE, Galaxy Xcover 4, and the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2016.

These three are now receiving new software updates and while they have little to do with Android Oreo, they are as important as they sound. In order to keep your device safe and secure from any hacking activities, you need to install this and any future security updates. Besides installing security patches, such updates also bring under-the-hood improvements and sometimes much-needed stability enhancements.

Where the Galaxy Xcover 3 VE is receiving firmware version G389FXXU1ARC5 that installs this month’s security patch, the newer Xcover 4 is only getting last month’s patch with software version G390FXXU2ARC3. It’s also joined by the Galaxy Tab A 2016 in receiving March 2018 patches as part of software version T585XXU2BRC1, but this doesn’t make them any less important than this month’s patches.

The updates are rolling out over the air, meaning they’ll take a few days before everyone gets the OTA notification. You can also skip the wait by going to the Settings menu and download the update manually.
