One UI 2 update based on Android 10 leaks out for Galaxy Note 9

Almost six weeks after the official Android 10 unveiling, Samsung announced its One UI 2 beta program for the Galaxy S10 family. The Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus, which were launched in August, were carefully omitted from the first batch, infuriating a section of the fanbase.

The delay for Note 10 spelled doom for the S9/Note 9, as they were pushed further down the pecking order. However, as demonstrated by a YouTuber Jovan Stevanovic, Samsung may already have a working beta for the Galaxy Note 9 in place.

Note 9 and Android 10 beta

The 2-min video above clearly displays the Android 10-based One UI 2.0 beta running flawlessly on the Galaxy Note 9. As we already know, One UI 2 won’t bring a visual overhaul, but there are some subtle variations here and there. The Quick Panel, menu UI, date and time placement, all have been reworked, and we can also see Google’s new gesture navigation system in action.

We don’t have the firmware at hand and the OTA is yet to be made available by Samsung. They are still likely in the internal testing (closed beta) part, but the progress we’re witnessing in this video is certainly encouraging.
