HTC One X+ tool lets you flash boot.img and recovery.img very easily

One of the perks of owning an Android device is the amount of experimentation that you can get to do with it by way of flashing Custom ROMs, play with different kernels and a variety of other mods which help improve the functionality and performance of your device. And if that device happens to be one of the most powerful smartphones on the market – the HTC One X+, all the better.

However, tinkering with custom recoveries and kernels can be tricky business, and should ideally not be attempted unless you know what you’re doing, or are following a trusted, but easy-to-perform method. XDA member shubhamchamaria has developed one such easy to use script which lets you flash a recovery image or a kernel, easy as snap. No need to tinker around with adb command line, wondering whether you typed in the right command before hitting the Enter key. The tool is called Easy Kernel-Recovery Flasher,  and that is exactly what it does – provide a super-easy way to flash recovery images and kernels on the HTC One X+.

The entire package is about 350 KB, and all you need to do is download the zip file and extract it to a folder on your desktop, or any other location convenient to you. Open the extracted folder, and you’ll see a bunch of files and two folders – Kernel & Recovery. If you want to flash a kernel, place the boot.img file for that kernel in the Kernel folder and double click the Kernel-Flash.bat file, and for recoveries, place the recovery.img file in the Recovery folder, and double click the Recovery-Flash.bat file to automatically flash the recovery. All you need to do is make sure that the images you want to flash are renamed to boot.img and recovery.img for this to work. To download the Easy Kernel-Recovery Flasher for the HTC One X+, hit the download button.

Keep in  mind though that you do need to ensure that you have all the appropriate USB drivers for your device installed on your PC or laptop. And when you visit shubhamchamaria’s XDA thread to look for updates to this tool, don’t forget to  say thanks to him  for making our lives so much easier.
