BlackBerry working on BlackBerry Secure, its own version of Android OS

Android Oreo was released just a few days back and now we have some more news regarding Android OS. However, the news is not from Google but from BlackBerry.

According to the latest report, Blackberry will soon announce its own version of Android OS, which will be loaded with BlackBerry security features that are the USP of the BlackBerry phones. The new secure OS from BlackBerry is known as “BlackBerry Secure”.

The secure modified version of Android OS or BlackBerry Secure will work on devices from other brands too. In order to accomplish that BlackBerry is currently in talks with other OEMs regarding license agreements for BlackBerry Secure.

Under the licensing deal, smartphone OEMs will be able to launch their devices with BlackBerry Secure, a modified secure version of Android packed with all the prominent BlackBerry security features.

BlackBerry announced its first Android powered smartphone two years ago in 2015. In February, they launched a new smartphone known as BlackBerry KeyOne. It runs on Android OS and features a physical keyboard.
