AT&T Galaxy Note 8.0 receives Stagefright fix on Android 4.4. KitKat

The Galaxy Note 8 is a capable tablet, powered by 2GB RAM a quad-core processor in Exynos 4412. But it’s still running Android 4.4 KitKat and will never ever have Android 5.0 or 5.1 update coming up. After all, it was launched with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS, and all things considered, KitKat is still 3rd major update for the Note 8.0. And since KitKat was its last update, it’s been quite long since AT&T Note 8 received an OTA but that doesn’t mean it has been all forgotten, as at least a crucial bug fixer update has been released for the Note 8 that fixes the now well-known vulnerability called Stagefright.

Only few hours ago, we saw Verizon Galaxy Note 3 receive a Stagefright update of its own, which basically means that most of the popular Android phones and tablets are being given due thought over fixing the Stagefright bug. Which is really good.

The model no. of Galaxy Note 8 that is receiving the Stagefright fix is SGH-i467.

In case you haven’t received the update on your AT&T Galaxy Note 8, model no. SGH-i467, yet then be sure to tap the ‘check for update’ button in Settings > About device > Software update.
