Asus Zenfone 2 VoLTE support will be coming soon, confirms Asus support team

The Zenfone 2 packs VoLTE supported hardware, but the feature isn’t enabled on the device’s firmware builds. But thankfully, after much requests from users, Asus is finally working on bringing VoLTE support to the device.

An Asus rep from the technical support team confirmed that support for VoLTE on Zenfone 2 ZE551ML is under testing. His full reply is quoted below:

For your concerns, we are sorry for we are unable to provide you the correct estimaiting date on this matter. Our developement team is trying to develop it as soon as possible to better serve customer. Actually, it’s a big engineering effort and we need more time to get it stable, so we cannot provide the estimating date before the process will be completed. Please be patient and allow giving us more time!

Notably, demand for support of VoLTE band increased in India after Jio (a wireless cellular network) released free unlimited 4G internet and VoIP calls for 6 months on any VoLTE supported Android device.
