LG to provide 300 apps optimized for LG G6 to its own app store

Making the most of the Full Vision Display of LG G6, the Korean manufacturer has decided to roll out hundreds of applications specifically customized for the flagship smartphone. Come next month and LG app store will boast of 300 applications optimized for the G6 smartphone.

Compared to the 200 apps present in the LG SmartWorld app store, this move by LG is a giant step to give G6 an edge. Clearly, the company is trying to pull any and all stunts to match up to the response generated by Samsung’s 2017 flagship phones S8 and S8+.

LG, on the other hand, has said that the decision to introduce 300 apps for G6 is based on the aim to enrich the experience of users and allow them to enjoy the 18:9 screen of the smartphone in an enriched way. LG is increasing the opportunity to experience the immersive feeling of the G6 Full Vision Display.

LG, in a previous statement, said:

Compared with conventional 16:9 aspect ratio displays, the 18:9 format offers more viewing space and a more immersive experience when streaming videos and playing games.

With the addition of 300 apps for G6 in the LG SmartWorld, users will be able to enjoy a wide variety of high-quality content dedicated to Full Vision Display for 18: 9 aspect ratio.

  1. awesome!! that means now there will be 300 apps optimized for the new LG G6 display with 18:9 aspect ratio, this will really make the complete use of the gorgeous display, the way it meant to be!!

    1. Yes this is the bright side of this move. I am sure S8 and G6 users will be tired of the weird new aspect ratio always being in the way for most games and media. Although I donot agree about having their own app store. Why not use google play store and keep it exclusive to LG G6. I donot see the point

  2. if this work out well LG might include more apps in future, awesome thinking from LG, Samsung should do the same for the S8!!

    1. They probably will in fairness, release their own apps or make the current apps optimized.
