Android gets Humble Bundle packof 6 games

Android today is arguably the largest mobile platform available for developers to showcase their products, and the open-source nature of the OS makes it that much more flexible and easier for developers to do so. What it also does is encourage platforms such as the immensely popular Humble Indie Bundle to release a bundle specially for Android devices.

Yes, the Android Humble Bundle is back, for the fourth time, and has already started yesterday – November 8th. For those who are unfamiliar with it, the Humble Bundle is a collection of games for which you pay what you want. That’s right, there are no limits, upper or lower on what you choose to pay for the bundle. The games are all DRM-free, which means that you can install them on multiple devices, without having to pay for additional licenses or keys. Each of the games in this bundle is also compatible with Windows, Mac OSX and Linux. Plus, you can choose how the amount you pay will be distributed between charity, the developers and Humble Indie Bundle Inc. itself.

The Humble Bundle for Android 4 includes 5 games, with an additional 6th game that can be unlocked if you pay an amount which is higher than the average payment at the time of purchase. The current average is close to $6, which frankly, is not much considering you can choose what cause you are supporting – development or charity. The latest Humble Bundle includes:

  • Splice – An experimental microbial puzzle game, best suited for devices with displays of 5″ or higher
  • Eufloria – A Real Time Strategy game with a bio-mechanical theme and a cool soundtrack
  • Waking Mars – An action-gardening game set on Mars. This has also been nominated for Best Mobile game in the Independent Game Festival 2012
  • Crayon Physics Deluxe –  A physics game featuring crayon art
  • Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP – A mythical fantasy-adventure game

    Bonus Game
      – Can be unlocked if the amount you pay is higher than the current average at the time of purchase
  • Machinarium – A real cool point-and-click adventure game with a robot as the main character.

All this first started-off as an experiment in game distribution, and, over the years has transformed into a platform for open studios to showcase their wares. To get a feel of what these games are like, check out the cool montage video below.
