Motorola updates Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade plans for USA. Droid Razr M, Razr HD and Razr Maxx HD to get the update before 2013

Motorola is surely moving fast since they committed to open communication with the customers as well as to faster upgrades to their devices, at least for the USA. Motorola has updated its software upgrade plans to let customers know which devices will be getting updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

First, the good news is that the RAZR M, Droid RAZR HD, and the RAZR Maxx HD will be updated to Jelly Bean by the end of this year, and since we already saw a pretty stable Android 4.1 firmware leak for the RAZR M, it would seem that Motorola will deliver on their promise for the three devices. Other devices to get Jelly Bean include the Atrix HD, Photon Q, Electrify 2, Droid RAZR and RAZR Maxx, Droid 4, and the Droid Bionic, though no time frame for these devices is mentioned.

The bad news is that devices like the Atrix 2, Photon 4G, Atrix 4G, and many more will remain on Gingerbread/Ice Cream Sandwich, though Motorola is offering a $100 rebate on many of the phones that won’t be getting updated further, if you trade them in for a RAZR M, Droid RAZR HD, RAZR Maxx HD, Atrix HD, Photon Q, or Electrify 2.

The full list of devices eligible for the rebate program can be found at the source link. For those with devices that are slated to get the update to Jelly Bean, well, the wait begins.
