Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ Benchmarks

The Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ might have begun shipping and already reached customers almost a week before it was originally intended to launch, but for now there don’t seem to be any benchmarks available for the tablet showing what its dual-core TI OMAP4470 processor and PowerVR SGX544 GPU are capable of.

XDA forum member onemeila hence took it upon himself and has posted the benchmark scores for the Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ from both the AnTuTu and Quadrant benchmarks, where the tablet scored 7881 and 2746 points, respectively. While those are respectable scores, chances are that Android 4.1 will improve them even further, bringing them closer to the Nexus 7’s scores of 3370 in Quadrant and 10482 in AnTuTu, which takes advantage of running a stock Android build without any bloat or custom skins.

Whatever the benchmark scores may be, we all know those aren’t really an indication of real-world performance, and by reports it seems that the Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ runs quite capably. In the end, that is all that really matters, right?
