MWC 2015: SanDisk unveils a microSD card with up to 200GB storage space

These days, you usually see smartphones which can have internal storage ranging from 4GB up to a maximum of 128GB. For some, this amount of space is more than enough, especially if you are one of those people who rely on cloud storage. But what if you are one of those people who crave as much storage space as one can possibly get? Well, for all of you, a microSD card is the best way to stack up a bit of extra space.

At this year’s MWC, SanDisk released its incredible storage solution – a 200GB MicroSD memory card. We all very well know that SanDisk Corporation is the boss when it comes to MicroSD storage cards. And it has brought us brilliant advancements in this field since the beginning. Well, for all those who have devices capable of sporting it, you are in for a real treat!

Storage is really important for people all around the world – be it music, apps, games or pictures! The company stated that, out of ten images captured by a tech geek, seven of them are taken on either a smartphone or a tablet. And of course, all these images have to be stored somewhere. Still, they keep piling up endlessly. But, you don’t have to worry anymore as SanDisk offers all the storage you require. This is a really huge leap in technology as years ago, this amount of storage was considered really big even for a PC and now, you can have it all in a size as small as a cent!

Using this technology, you can attain a speed of 90MB/s which comes up to 1,200 photos every minute! The microSD card is expected to be available in the second quarter of this year and well, don’t expect it to be cheap! It is anticipated to offer a warranty of 10 years and will cost around $400. This might be a little hard to take in, but you should know that it comes with an SD card adapter!

  1. I don’t think that is an official microSD card. I think they mean a 256GB mircoSD card.
