Sprint release new update for Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S6 and S6 Edge (later two get Wi-Fi calling)

Sprint today rolled out updates for last year’s two Galaxy S devices along with their Edge variants. Yes, all four of Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S6 and S6 Edge have a new build up for downloaded as an OTA. As these devices are already on Marshmallow, this isn’t a BIG update as we saw earlier for the T-Mobile Note 4 and T-Mobile Note Edge, while the same update was earlier distributed on Sprint’s other devices, Moto X Pure, HTC Desire 626s, etc. but not Sprint G Flex 2.

As for the changelog, the S7 devices are seeing only ‘Android security updates.’ While, the Galaxy S6 sets are also getting the ability to make Wi-Fi calls, and some bug fixes to complete the list.

The build no. for each of the Sprint devices received update today is G930PVPU2APF2, G935PVPU2APF2, G920PVPU3CPF4 and G925PVPU3CPF4.

To install the OTA update, go to Settings and look for the system update — find it in ‘About device’ menu. BTW, keep an eye on our firmware page from where you can download the latest update as full firmware, installable manually on your PC.
