Sprint Galaxy S3 Specification Mined Out Before Official Announcement. It’s the Return of the Qualcomm S4 Processor!

The disappointment continues for US-based customers, as the Sprint Galaxy S3 will be hitting their shores with a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, instead of the powerful Exynos 4 Quad quad-core processor in the international one, as revealed by a leaked user agent string for the device.

While you won’t see a difference in everyday performance as the S4 is a very powerful processor (beating the quad-core Tegra 3 in some tests), it will be another downer for those looking to get their hands on the heavy-hitting quad-core Exynos processor that blew the competition out of the water in some benchmarks.

Other specs of the Galaxy S3 coming to Sprint will be the same however, which would mean a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display, 1 GB of RAM, 16/32/64 GB storage options with microSD support up to 64GB, 2100 mAh battery, and Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich with Samsung’s new intuitive software features intact as well.

With both the Galaxy S3 and the HTC One X — the two most powerful quad-core enabled phones out there — showing up with dual-core processors, it seems US customers must continue to make comprises in order to enjoy 4G LTE internet speeds. Unless Samsung and other quad-core processor manufacturers come up with 4G LTE enabled chips on a mass scale soon, this will probably continue for quite some time in the near future.
