Many Sony fans were disappointed as the Xperia Z4 that was expected to be the flagship smartphone for this year was launched as the Xperia Z3+ without the flagship aspects. This does not mean that Sony is not prepping a new high-end smartphone that will rival the other flagship devices in the market.

The rumors regarding new devices such as Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Ultra have started making rounds in the online world. These rumors have created a buzz in the tech world as Sony is working on the flagship Xperia Z5 that is expected to go official in September.

The details about the display of the Xperia Z5 remain unknown, but the smartphone is claimed to employ the yet to be announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC and 4 GB of RAM. It is speculated to arrive with a fingerprint scanner and a mammoth 4,500 mAh battery as well.

The rear snapper on the Xperia Z5 is likely to be a 21 MP Sony Exmor RS IMX230 CMOS sensor with support for 4K video recording and HDR capabilities. The OmniBalance design is said to be retained that might disappoint some.

In April, there was a rumor that the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Ultra and Xperia Z5 Compact will feature 4 GB of RAM and Quad HD 1440p screens. The rumor also tipped at the presence of Qualcomm Ultrasonic Sense ID fingerprint scanner only on the Xperia Z5 Ultra. Contradictorily, this report tipped that the three devices will be redesigned completely without the OmniBalance design. Also, the Xperia Z5 got leaked with the USB Type-C port.

We need to wait for Sony to reveal something officially to know what it is prepping and how the Xperia Z5 and the other devices will look like.
