Sony Mobile seems not to have any plans of launching smartphones that are equipped with USB Type-C connector in the near future. The firm is considering the connectivity feature, but it will wait for the technology to get more popular in the industry before implementing it.
It seems that the new connector will not help the Japanese tech maker make slimmer and lighter smartphones. As of now, the firm is focused on producing slimmer modules of camera and display to make the devices thin.
The USB Type-C is gaining traction as it is a reversible plug connector and for its potential speedier data. Both Google and Apple have released notebooks that feature this new connector. Google is in plans to bring the technology to the Android smartphones in the future.
