While Amazon Echo and Google Home currently rule the Android AI speaker market, in June, news broke about Samsung’s own AI speaker. The Samsung AI speaker, which is codenamed as Vega will be co-developed by Samsung and Harman International.

Samsung acquired the US based audio and car electronics maker, Harman International in March this year. The chiefs of the two firms held a closed-door meeting at the IFA 2017 in Berlin.

According to the Harman CEO, Samsung’s AI speaker will perform much better than Google Home and Amazon Alexa. With AI speaker, Samsung will create an AI connected eco-system comprising of all kinds of home appliances and mobile devices.

The Samsung AI speaker would work well with all kinds of home appliances and mobile devices. It will be powered by Bixby, that is currently available on three devices only – Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+, and the recently launched Galaxy Note 8.
