Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus Nougat update shows up on Geekbench

Guess who’s next up for the Nougat update? It’s none other than the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus (model number SM-G928C). The device was spotted on Geekbench running Android 7.0 Nougat.

The phablet which came out way back in August 2015 with a humble build Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will finally be able to get a taste of what Google has to offer through Nougat. With 4GB of RAM and the octa-core Exynos 7420 processor powering the device, the S6 Edge Plus has plenty of horsepower to stay in the same stack as the current flagship, albeit a few places below.

But given that smartphone comes with a 5.7-inch 1440 sAMOLED display, the 3000mAh battery on board does a feeble job to just get you through the day. But there’s a small ray of hope out there as S6 Edge Plus owners may not have to carry around a battery bank around though.

With Nougat around the corner, you may just be able to see a small window of improvement in battery life thanks to Nougat’s improved doze feature. Nougat will also be bringing you a whole load of features including a revamped settings menu, Vulkan API and other performance improvements.
