Samsung releases May Android security patch details

Samsung is soon going to release new security updates for their flagship devices such as the Galaxy S8, S8+, S7, S7 Edge, Note 5, S6, S6 Edge, and so on. The updates aren’t released yet, but when available, they will install the May Android security patch on the devices.

The update will include other bug fixes and patches from Samsung as well. Google recently started seeding the May security update to Pixel and Nexus devices. Samsung is hot on its tail with this announcement.

According to an update on the Samsung Mobile Security blog, the upcoming security update will have patched 11 vulnerabilities from Samsung’s side as well. The unlocked variants of the supported devices should see the update arrive first, followed by locked variants.

If you’ve received a new security update notification on your Samsung smartphone, that installs the latest May Android patch, then do go ahead and download it right away. This one is an important update.

  1. Impressed to see Samsung following up on this right behind google. What is more is that they have added some of their own bug fixes from their side this soon. However did they manage that so fast. I look forward to seeing the day when all android updates happen alongside or right after pixel line. That would be really amazing.
