Samsung Pay rolling out for Sprint S6 and S6 edge, builds G920PVPU2BOH1 and G925PVPU2BOH1

It’s finally happening! One of the most exciting feature of the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, Samsung Pay, is now rolling out.

Starting with the Sprint S6 and S6 edge today, Samsung Pay and a few other features are being rolled out for the devices with firmware builds G920PVPU2BOH1 and G925PVPU2BOH1, respectively. Check out the full official changelog below:

  • Samsung Pay
  • Live broadcasting via Yahoo!
  • High Quality Audio (with Samsung headsets)
  • UI updates
  • Bug fixes

While High Quality Audio and UI updates seem interesting here, “Live broadcasting via Yahoo!” seems like another bloatware getting pushed to your Sprint S6 edge. Phew!

Anyway, we’re happy to see Samsung Pay feature finally getting out for the device. However, there have been unofficial reports earlier which claimed that Samsung Pay may not work on rooted Galaxy S6 / S6 edge devices, and for worse, it stretches up to the point that devices with KNOX counter tripped may also not be able to use the Samsung Pay feature.

We don’t have the Sprint S6 or S6 edge in hand to verify the problem with Samsung Pay, Root and Knox counter. But if you happen to own the device, and have its Knox counter tripped, then do let us know if Samsung Pay is working for you after installing the BOH1 OTA update.
