Imagine everything you do on your phone getting recorded, like some people would in a personal diary, and presented back to you as a fascinating, or not so fascinating story of your day, depending on your lifestyle? To some, it may sound amusing, or even interesting, but to most it is likely to sound scary!
Samsung has filed a patent application called “Apparatus and Method for Generating Story According to User Information.” Based on that, the concept seems to be that your device will record each and every activity you perform in it, and generate a daily story based on one random topic which represents the user’s daily life information.
There are no details available on specifically what data will be collected, or on what basis it will be collected. More importantly, who decides what is collected, and what is an interesting enough topic to base your daily story on?
Well, if and when, this actually goes live, it is going to make Facebook look like Fort Knox, as far as user privacy is concerned. On the other hand, it sure is going to make for some interesting reads, provided it’s somebody else’s daily life story you are reading 🙂
