Samsung, LG come face-to-face at ISE 2017 with flagship display panels

In yet another showdown between the two Korean giants, Samsung and LG, at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2017, the audience beheld the spectacle of high-end display panel release. The ISE, which commenced today in Amsterdam, is the European forum for professional AV and electronic system integration.

Trying to impress the visitors as well as outdo one another in the ISE battleground, both the OEMs unveiled their respective display panels and brands. While Samsung debuted its quantum dot light-emitting diode Signage (QLED Signage) and light-emitting diode (LED) Signage IF series, LG preferring not to enter into new territories stuck with its organic light-emitting diode (OLED) brand.

LG’s OLED Signage series has various types of OLED display panels which includes flexible, two-side, in-glass OLED Signage panels as well as ultra-stretch LCD panel.

The flexible model can be folded in any forms that users want while the ultra-stretch LCD panel can be used for putting up public ad boards. These ultra-stretch LCD panels can be extended, length and breadth wise, depending on the requirement, giving them the upper-edge over QLED.

On the other hand, Samsung’s QLED display panel is the world’s first that can realize color volume 100 percent in any situation. The QLED technology-powered display enables viewers to experience more detailed content delivered with deeper blacks, sharper whites and precise color hues. It, however, lags behind the OLED display in darkness.

The two Korean tech firms will once again be seen locking horns at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2017. Who is or will be the winner in the duel, however, is a tough call to take on.
