The previous gen Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 came out way back in April 2015 and requires a much needed upgrade now that we’ve entered 2017. Thankfully, we’ll be able to see that come to light pretty soon, as the Galaxy Xcover 4 has been spotted over at FCC.
The upcoming smartphone carries the model number SM-G390F. The Xcover 3 was a smartphone which prioritized function over form and therefore ended up sporting IP67 water and dust certification and a heavy duty build over other things.
In terms of specifications for the Xcover 3, things were on the lighter side, with 1.5GB of RAM and a not-s0-common Marvell Armada PXA1908 chipset. The display stayed at a modest 4.5-inch with a WVGA resolution.

Taking into account that almost two years have passed after the Xcover 3 was launched, we’re very interested to find out what hardware Samsung will pack into the upcoming Xcover 4. Perhaps we’ll get to see the smartphone launch by Q2 this year.
