If you’ve been waiting for a rugged mid-range Android 4.1 Jelly Bean smartphone to complement your active lifestyle and are in Europe, then the Galaxy Xcover 2 by Samsung may soon be an option as Finland retailer Gigantti has listed the device for a price of €319, with an expected delivery date of March 7.
IP67 certification makes the Galaxy Xcover 2 both water- and dust-proof, making for a sturdy and tough exterior of the 4-inch smartphone. The specs of the device include a 4-inch display of 800 x 480 pixels resolution, dual-core 1GHz Cortex-A9 processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB built-in storage and microSD support, 5-megapixel rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, Wi-Fi, HSPA 14.4 Mbps, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, 1,700 mAh battery, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Samsung’s TouchWiz Nature UX.
The Galaxy Xcover 2 is expected to be available soon in the UK as well, with Clove already allowing pre-orders for it at a price of £270. They don’t list the exact launch date, but if the Finland launch does happen on March 7, we can expect to see it in other European countries soon after.
