Samsung Galaxy S8 specs finalized: Prototype made, dual camera is S8 Plus exclusive, and physical home button is out!

Korean media is reporting that Samsung has finalized the specs and design of the Galaxy S8, as they have made a prototype too, which has been sent to their CEO and Vice Chairman. Report has it that dual camera for the Galaxy S8 has been scraped due to high costs associated with the tech, and thus have kept it exclusive to Galaxy S8 Plus, while you will no longer see the physical Home button (first Galaxy device without that, yes!).

The rumors also reveal that fingerprint scanner has been moved to back side of the device, while the display size of Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus — no Galaxy S8 Edge — is 5.7″ and 6.2″. Well, if you thought those are two very big phones, well, no. Have a look at Xiaomi Mi Mix. Notice its great screen-to-body ratio? That is what something Samsung has in mind too — heck, it even showed it already with the Note 7, but this time it will be even greater.

Samsung believes they can win the smartphone users’s heart with their AI software, which would be most probably called Bixby.

The Galaxy S8 is heavily rumored to feature new generation processor based on 10nm tech, which would be Snapdragon 835 chip for USA, while the ROW will get its own Exynos chip based on same tech. We could see 6GB of RAM inside Galaxy S8, while storage could start with 64GB for base variant.

Samsung is set to release the Galaxy S8 in April, but as rumors of March release of LG G6 surfaced, we also came to learn that Samsung would try to showcase the Galaxy S8 at MWC too — where we would see Nokia 8 flagship, HTC 11 and LG G6 unveiled too — and produce handful of Galaxy S8 units for that purpose already, even though full scale release would will be followed only in April.
