Samsung Galaxy S8 camera specs leaked

Samsung may not market its devices based on the camera features unlike other OEMs like Sony Oppo, and Vivo, yet it goes without saying that camera performance is Samsung’s plus point. And it intends to double that by loading its upcoming flagship smartphone Galaxy S8 with some powerful camera features. Well, there have been past leaks supporting our statement. But a new leak almost confirms it.

Coming from a tipster, who goes by the name of @mmddj_china on Twitter, we get a peak at the Galaxy S8 camera sensors. The tipster, who has been constantly pouring leaks via his Twitter handle based on Weibo reports, reveals that Galaxy S8 selfie shooter will be of 8MP with OIS (Optical Image Stablization), F/1.7 aperture. A similar spec was revealed last month by tipster Ice Universe, once again via his Twitter handle.

Coming to the S8 rear camera, which stands to be the star of the show, we get to know that it will rock 12MP sensor of 1/2.3″ size with OIS and F/1.6 aperture. It will also be equipped with the unbelievable 1000FPS recording capability. This means Galaxy S8 cameras can record videos at an incredible slow motion rate of 1000 frames per second (fps).

Now, with the 1000fps S8 clearly jumps ahead of Sony and Apple in terms of camera quality. Sony’s Xperia XZ Premium and Xperia XZs have the capability of shooting slow-motion videos at 960fps while iPhone 7 is capable of recording slow-motion 1080p videos at 120fps and 720p videos at 240fps.

Samsung will be launching Galaxy S8 on March 29th while a global release is set for April 21st. If the features of Galaxy S8 which we have come to know via all the leaks and reports stand to be true, it will turn out to be like no other flagship phone released till now. In fact, Samsung has even brought significant changes in its marketing strategies for this phone taking it altogether to another level.
