Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus update rolling out with June security patch

After Galaxy A5 2016, Tab A 2016 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, it is time for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus to receive the June security patch.

The update, which arrives as OTA update with the build number G955FXXU1AQF7 weighs 453.72MB. It brings along many new improvements, which include improved quality of panorama images. Besides that, the update brings improvements in the navigation bar. Now you can see more of the display because the icons in navigation bar have been added to the left side.

In addition to that, the update brings in many new background colors. Keep in mind, when you update your device, the background color will be set to the default color. So, don’t be frightened after updating your device.

Further, as is the case with any security patch, the update takes care of various security vulnerabilities and brings along under-the-hood performance improvements as well as other minor system enhancements too.

Most importantly, it is advisable to connect to a good Wi-Fi network before downloading the update and since the update weighs around 415MB, make sure you have enough free storage. Further, keep your handset charged as high as 50 percent.

And, if you haven’t received the OTA update yet, you can check for it manually via the device settings. Go to Settings – About – Software updates.
