Only when we decided the battle of 2013 flagships receiving the Lollipop update in favor of LG G2, Samsung’s and S4’s local rival, an Android 5.0.1 build has leaked on your favorite place, the Internets. The model no. in case is, GT-I9500, the Exynos processor powered one — apparently, it’s not meant for a European set, which is known by model no. GT-I9505, nor for any U.S. carrier tied Galaxy S4.
This is surely a big reason to celebrate the day for GT-I9500 (or GT-I9502/8/8v) users, who must have envied that cool Lollipop port from GT-I9505G (GPe edition Galaxy S4) to LTE handsets like GT-I9505 and U.S. S4s. Although, in humble opinion of this author, that GPe edition Lollipop build is far sexier than this TouchWiz-slapped Lollipop update that leaked today, because the former is totally 100% stock. Carrier adulteration can’t beat that!
The leaked Android 5.0 update for Galaxy S4 is pretty good enough to be your daily driver as it’s got its senses working alright — meaning, the cell network, calls, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth etc. and other sensors are up and running as they should, which is generally not the case with test builds found in the wild.
This Galaxy S4 Lollipop update has many parts in Chinese — even after you’ve selected English as your choice of language — so be prepared to face the language of the country where this build is being worked upon for you, dear S4 user.
There is good deal of TouchWiz on this build, as you find on Galaxy S5 Lollipop update, which actually is a spoiler. The stock Android 5.0 is the best UI, and TouchWiz really is good at sucking out the fun. No wonder, Samsung is looking bid adieu to its custom skin, as it wants to shed some memory usage consumed there.
