Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean Update available for more carriers and countries

Samsung Galaxy S3 users in the UK got Jelly-beaned, over the weekend. While the Android 4.1 update is still getting pushed out to users in the UK, across different carriers, it appears that Samsung has released the update for various other European countries and carriers as well. Sammobile is already listing the official Samsung firmware for these countries on their website, which means that they are already getting pushed out to customers over-the-air, or via Samsung KIES.

If you happen to be in any of the countries and  carriers listed in the above screenshot, you can check your notifications panel for a new system update. The OTA update size is likely to be around 280 MB, and in case you can’t find it, you can manually check for it via Settings > About Phone >System Update on your device. Alternatively, you can connect your device to KIES on your computer and check if KIES has it available.

If you are the impatient types like me, who can’t wait to update their phones with the latest and greatest updates, you can download the corresponding firmware file from the Sammobile firmware page, and refer to this detailed step-by-step guide we have posted earlier, to update your Galaxy S3 to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Android 4.1 brings some exciting new features to your device, notable ones being Google Now, Voice Search, Expandable Notifications, Android Beam and considerable improvement in performance and responsiveness of your device.
