Samsung Galaxy S3 already has 9 million pre-orders. Wait, come again?

Samsung has hit a rather huge milestone with their upcoming Samsung Galaxy S3. According to information let slip by a Samsung official, global pre-orders of the Galaxy S3 have already reached 9 million. That’s a staggering amount, thrice more than the S2’s 3 million pre-order record. If there was ever an argument about which would be more famous as well as sell more, between the HTC One X and the Galaxy S3, that argument can now be firmly buried in the backyard.

The Samsung official also noted that the Samsung factory is working at a capacity of churning out 5 million Galaxy S3 per month. That should be very nice to hear for those who pre-ordered it, as they can rest assured that they will receive the device without any delays.

Are you one of that insanely high count of 9 million that pre-ordered it? Or do you prefer to buy a device when it actually gets released? Let us know in the comments.

  1. I have a Galaxy S at the moment. Its running fine and I am thinking of flashing CM9, why buy a newer model now? I’ll wait for it to release in my area before considering to buy it.

    1. Yes. Some people have the habit to get the latest and greatest as and when it comes out, even though their current device suits them fine. Can’t help it, people too addicted to technology for their own good 🙂 Though from the SGS, the jump to the SGS3 will be quite big for you. 😀

      1. I just went from the SGS2 over to the HTC EVO 3D. I like to flash custom roms and such, but just found myself wanting something a bit out of the ordinary. OK so it’s not as good (In theory) as the SGS2, but I find the 3D great fun. I wont be getting the S3.

        1. Hmm… that’s strange. I haven’t see many comments putting the 3D over Speedy, plasticky and light weight Samsung phones, but it was nice to know anyway. Gotta try 3D too, sometime, now that HTC knows how to design a phone (looking at One X). 😀

Let’s the HTC releases good 3D phone too, on the lines of One X.

  2. I HOPE I GET MINE THE DAY IT COMES OUT I HAVE IT PRE ORDERED BUT IF THEM FIGURE’S ARE RIGHT AM GETTING WORRIED NOW.

  3. So the “Carrier Preorders” terminology means that 9 million people have actually gone and signed up as preorders and are awaiting delivery? When I saw Carrier Preorders, I thought that meant that 9 million Galaxy S3’s have been ordered by carriers in speculation that buyers would scoop them up once they were in stock.
