Samsung Galaxy S2 gets two new launchers, one from Galaxy S3 and other from LG UI3

If you’re still using a Samsung Galaxy S2, but are tired of the default Touchwiz launcher, here’s some news that should brighten up your day. You should now be able to try out the Samsung Galaxy S3 Touchwiz Launcher with the Galaxy Note grid, and the LG UI 3.0 launcher on your Galaxy S2.

XDA member endrit9 has managed to port the Touchwiz UX launcher from the Samsung Galaxy S3 and has uploaded the apk for everyone. Installing the basic launcher is quite easy, as it just involves downloading the apk and running it using any File Manager app. However, the additional elements like the Galaxy S3 icons, involve a bit of tinkering around. You can visit the link below to download the apk and for more details and instructions on how to get the SGS3 icons.

Another XDA member Gyebro has ported the LG UI 3.0 launcher for use with the SGS2. The LG UI 3.0 launcher looks quite different from the TouchWiz UI by Samsung, and should be a nice change. Notable features include 5 x 4 home grid as against the standard 4 x 4 grid and Modified Weather widget. Installation of the LG UI 3.0 launcher however, is not as simple, and requires root access. It also involves adding the apk file to the /system/app folder and changing permissions for the app, using an advanced file manager. We recommend Solid Explorer, which as its name suggests is a really solid app. You can download the LG UI 3.0 apk from the link below, and also find instructions and other details about the launcher.
