Samsung Galaxy Note Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update leaked. Not working smooth at all right now

With Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates starting to land on the Galaxy S3, and the Galaxy Note 2 pre-prepped with 4.1, the Galaxy S2 and the original Galaxy Note are awaiting the official bump up to Android 4.1. Of course, 4.1 or Jelly Bean based custom ROMs have been available for both devices for quite some time, but nothing like the real deal, or custom ROMs based on official updates, eh?

XDA member eybee1970 has managed to get a leaked firmware build for the Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000, as you can see above in the screenshot of the build.prop extract posted above. Upon testing, it is found that while Android 4.1 is much smoother than Android 4.0 on the Note, there are still frequent force closes and crashes experienced, especially when accessing Settings or the Set-up assistant.

Clearly there is still a lot of work to be done on stabilizing Android 4.1 for the Galaxy Note. eybee1970 has promised to post the dump files soon on XDA, so that the vast developer community can pick through them and hopefully come up with something more stable. For now, the build certainly doesn’t seem like a daily driver, and Galaxy Note users who have been anxiously waiting for the official upgrade, will have to hold on for some more time. Word has it that the official Android 4.1 update from Samsung, for the original Galaxy Note may be made available by the end of November.
