Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to have 8-core Mali 450 GPU [Rumor]

When rumors surfaced that the Galaxy Note 3 would feature 3GB of RAM, I shook my head in disbelief – do we really need more RAM or does Samsung need to reduce some of its RAM-hungry gimmicky features? However, according to the latest rumor, Samsung seem to want to make the Note 3 a major powerhouse, as apparently that 3GB of RAM will be coupled with an octa-core Exynos and an 8-core GPU.

Sammobile, the trusted source for all things Samsung, have heard from their insider that the Galaxy Note 3 will use the Mali 450 GPU, which features 8 processing cores and should provide ample power, perhaps much more than the Galaxy S4 currently does. As for the display, they confirm that the screen size will be 5.99″ and use the same Super AMOLED technology as the S4 – it might even be flexible if Samsung can get around to mass producing flexible displays before its launch.

The camera should be a 13-megapixel unit (again, like the Galaxy S4), while the phablet should run on the latest version of Android that is available at that time, with Samsung’s TouchWiz Nature UX on top (or hopefully, an improved and better-looking UI with a less cheesy name). As always, the newest Galaxy Note device would probably be announced at the IFA in September, where other devices such as the recently rumored Sony “Honami” are also expected to be showcased.

All of this should be taken with a pinch of salt, despite the insider having a good track record of providing accurate info according to Sammobile. The Galaxy Note series has never been a major upgrade over the Galaxy S lineup, with both the first and second Galaxy Note sporting the same internal hardware as the Galaxy S2 and S3, so it is not very likely that Samsung will choose the Note 3 to showcase the latest in processing power instead of the Galaxy S5 (or whatever the next year flagship is called).

But even if they do, who are we to complain, right?
