DOWNLOADS

Download the file given below and save them in a separate folder on your computer (just to keep things tidy!).

  • CF Auto Root file with Odin: DOWNLOAD LINK
    File name: CF-Auto-Root-ha3g-ha3gxx-smn900.zip
    File size: 15.7 MB

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

Once you’ve finished downloading the files given in downloads section above, follow the instructions below to root your Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

PART 1: Extract downloaded file and open Odin
  1. Extract CF-Auto-Root file, CF-Auto-Root-ha3g-ha3gxx-smn900.zip, that you downloaded above, to get these files:
    • CF-Auto-Root-ha3g-ha3gxx-smn900.tar.md5
└ Note: If you get other files (recovery.img and cache.img maybe!) than this, then you have extracted it wrong, maybe more than one time/level. You must get file in .tar.md5 format. (Extract again, perhaps using 7-zip free PC software.)
    • Odin3-v1.85.exe
  2. Disconnect the Galaxy Note 3 from PC if it is connected.
  3. Double click on Odin3-v1.85.exe to run Odin
PART 2: Boot Galaxy Note 3 into Download Mode and connect to PC
  1. Now, boot your Samsung Galaxy Note 3 into Download Mode:
    • Power Off your Galaxy Note 3. Wait for 6-7 seconds after display is off.
    • Now, press these 3 keys together until you see warning screen: Volume DOWN + Power + Home.
    • Press Volume Up to continue to Download Mode.
  2. Connect Galaxy S3 to PC. Odin window will show an Added!! message in bottom left box.
Odin’s screen would look like this:
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900 Added to OdinIf you don’t get the Added! message, here are some troubleshooting tips:
    • Make sure you have installed driver for Note 3 as said above in ‘Prepare Yourself’ section.
    • If you have already installed driver, try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it.
    • Try a different USB cable. The original cable that came with your phone should work best, if not, try any other cable that’s new and of good quality.
    • Connect using a different USB port on your PC.
    • Reboot phone and PC and then try again.
PART 3: Flash CF Auto Root
  1. Load the CF Auto Root file. For this, click the PDA tab in ‘Files [Download]’ section on Odin, and select this file → CF-Auto-Root-ha3g-ha3gxx-smn900.tar.md5
Your Odin’s screen would now look like this:
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900 Root File Added
  2. Click the ‘Start‘ button on Odin to start flashing the CF-Auto-Root file on your Galaxy Note 3, and wait until you see ‘PASS!’ message on Odin’s top left box.
  3. When you get PASS! message, your phone will restart automatically. You can then disconnect your phone from PC.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900 Rooted└ If you see FAIL instead of PASS in Odin’s top left box, disconnect Galaxy Note 3 from PC, close Odin, remove phone’s battery and put it back in 3-4 seconds, open Odin and then repeat PART 2 and PART 3 of this guide again.
