Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Source Code released, piques developer’s interests

If you have managed to treat yourself to Samsung’s latest offering, the Galaxy Note 2, or are planning to get one soon, here’s some great news for you which could make an awesome device even better.

Earlier today, Samsung has released the source code for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 – GT-N7100. The Galaxy Note 2 is based on Android 4.1.1 or Jellybean. What this means, is that developers now have access to the official source code, and would be able to start developing Custom ROMs for the device. DEV ROMs based on officially released code are certainly preferable to those based on leaked code, or ported from other devices, as you can be assured of far fewer bugs and more often than not, a fully functional ROM. They are also able to perform other testing and report bugs and fixes to Samsung, thereby helping Samsung to incorporate those fixes in future updates.

What this also means, is that you would be seeing a lot more articles on some awesome Custom ROMs for the Galaxy Note 2 on our website soon enough. If you are a developer, you can download the official source code from HERE. And if you plan to work on developing a new ROM for this awesome device, do let us know, and we’ll be sure to write about it.
