Samsung Galaxy Note 2 OTA Update enabling Multi-View in India

Here’s some good news for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 users in India. Samsung India has started rolling out a couple of  firmware updates for the Galaxy Note 2. While the updates do not bring any changes in the OS version, which remains at Android 4.1.1, it does add the much talked about Multi-View feature.

The OTA update is being pushed in two parts, the first one being a smaller one at just 9 MB, and then a larger update which weighs around 33 MB. You do need to download the smaller update first to be able to get the second one though.

User’s have reported the following post updating their devices:

• First Update (9 MB) updates the Build Number to JR3C.N7100XXALIH
• Second Update ( 33 MB) further updates the Build Number to JR3C.N7100XXALJ1
• Multi-View has been reported to be active after applying  the second update
• Screen Recorder feature is still missing, and will hopefully be pushed through a future update

Keep in mind though, that OTA updates would only apply to stock, unrooted devices. If you have already rooted your device, you would need to flash it back with a stock or factory image, to able to get these updates.

While the Android OS would automatically notify you in case there is a firmware update available for your device, you can also locate this OTA update by navigating to your Settings → About Phone and download it from there. Alternatively, you can also update your device using KIES.
