Owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 will have to wait for the Android 4.2 update till Q1 2013, according to Sammobile‘s insiders.
Samsung is said to be already working on the Android 4.1.2 update for the Galaxy S3, and since the Galaxy Note 2 came out with 4.1.1 out of the box, we can expect it to get 4.1.2 soon after the Galaxy S3. There is no telling which other Samsung devices will get Android 4.2, but newer devices like the Galaxy S3 Mini or the Galaxy Premier are probably on the list.
Google unveiled Android 4.2 on October 29th, along with their new upcoming Nexus devices. Android 4.2 is an incremental update to 4.1, and brings new features such as a new keyboard with Swype-like “Gesture Typing”, a 360 degrees panorama mode called Photo Sphere in the camera, improved Google Now with extended functionality, and more.
