Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Music, a low-end phone smartphone running on Android 4.0 made specially for music buffs, with features such as dual front speakers, support for audio formats such FLAC and OGG out of the box, Sound Alive and SRS sound technology, a built-in FM antenna, and even a WVGA projector with a power of 9 Lumen.
There is 4GB of internal storage and also a microSD slot that can accept up to 32GB microSD cards, so keeping all your music with you shouldn’t be a problem. As for other specs, the Galaxy Music is powered by an 850MHz Cortex A9 processor, 512MB of RAM, a 3.0 QVGA (320×240) display, 3 megapixel fixed-focus camera (no Flash), WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, Wi-Fi Direct, a 1300 mAh battery, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. An update to Android 4.1 is apparently planned according to an update schedule Samsung had released, but considering the low-end specs, that might or might not happen.
There is also a dual-SIM version of the device, named the Galaxy Music Duos like all other dual-SIM Android devices by Samsung. Both variants should be available in blue, orange and white colors. Samsung didn’t provide any release date or pricing details, but we would expect it to be a little above the Galaxy Y.
