Samsung Galaxy J5 update rolling out with April security patch, build J510FXXU2AQC1

The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) is currently receiving a new security software update. Samsung is rolling out a new update that installs the April Android security patch on the device.

If you own one, you should be notified of the update very soon. The update is being delivered over-the-air and carries the build number J510FXXU2AQC1. As already mentioned at the start, the update installs the April Android security patch, and that’s about it.

The 2016 variant of the Galaxy J5 was released in April last year. A 2017 variant is supposed to be announced very soon. This mid-range smartphone features a 5.2-inch 720p display, a Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage.

There’s a 13MP camera at the back, and a 5MP at the front. Power is provided by a 3100 mAh battery, and the phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Before installing this update, make sure your device is sufficiently charged and is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network.
