Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 and A5 2015 get March security update

Samsung is rolling out a new firmware update to two of its devices namely Galaxy A5 2017 and Galaxy A5 2015. The new update installs the latest monthly security patch in these two devices. It is incredible to see how Samsung takes care of its newly launched products at the same time keeping old ones close as well.

Samsung’s mid-range smartphone A5 2015 is two years old while its 2017 avatar was released only two months back. Despite the huge launch gap, Samsung is bestowing similar attention to both when it comes to firmware updates.

Galaxy A5 2017 is receiving the new firmware update as build A520FXXU1AQC7 which installs the March security patch. On the other hand, the update is hitting Galaxy A5 2015 as build number A500LKLU1CQC1 where it fixes regular bugs and optimizes the device performance, other than bringing the March security patch.

The OTA update is being rolled out as we speak. In case you want to check for it manually, you need to go to Settings > About device > System updates.
