Samsung Display’s plant catches fire in Korea

Looks like Samsung is always going to have a fire burning within, not in a good way though. The Samsung Display plant located in the South Chungcheong Province in Cheonan caught fire earlier today.

According to local reports, the fire started at around 9:20 AM in the cooling tower of the building. The tower is located at the top of a three-story building that sends power and chemicals to the assembly lines.

The fire authority managed to put out the fire at around 10:15 AM and reported that there weren’t any casualties. Samsung Display hasn’t given any official statement about the cause of the fire. In February this year, a Samsung SDI factory that makes batteries also went up in flames.

Samsung had a horrible last year, but things are sort of looking good after the launch of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. Unfortunately, the company is losing market share in China, where other Chinese brands are doing much better.
