Samsung’s previous quarterly income didn’t look that great with the Galaxy Note 7 mess and the company is taking counter measures to get back on track. The Korean giant has set shipment goals of 20 million devices for the Galaxy A series and 100 million for the budget J series.
Budget markets like India returned positive sales for 2016 and Samsung intends to utilize these sectors to increase future demands. Samsung has projected its flagship Galaxy S8 to ship 60 million devices for 2017. That’s high expectation from Samsung considering that the global growth in the smartphone sector is estimated to be lower than last year’s.
Samsung has scheduled to release the Galaxy S8 by April this year but there’s also a chance for the flagship to be unveiled to the public before April. The S8 is also rumored to pack in the newly announced 8GB RAM module from SK Hynix considering that the device was expected to ship with 8GB of RAM.
The 2017 editions of Galaxy A series feature great hardware with the Galaxy A5 and A7 featuring a 16MP camera on both front and back of the device, along with latest in tech features such as waterproof body and USB Type C for faster data transfer rates.
