Rumored LG G4 Specs are surprising!

rumored g4 specs

LG G4 is going to be one of the most anticipated mobile phone of the year 2015. And that’s simply because it’s going to be a successor of the LG G3, one of the best this year, and LG’s most popular phone to date. We expect LG to spec up the G4 at the max, like it did with G3, packing the latter with Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB RAM and 13MP laser camera, to name a few.

LG G4 would surely be a massive release, and would go toe-to-toe with Galaxy S6, HTC One M9 and Sony Xperia Z4, and the already released device in Motorola Nexus 6 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4, both of which use Snapdragon 805 processor.

Talking about the LG G4 specifications, keeping the hardware side apart for a bit, we’re also excited about LG’s custom skin, LG UI, even though we’re not a fan of custom UIs of OEMs. We and would love to meet the upgrades to knock code, LG G3 quick circle case and the new version of LG UI, which was already good on KitKat, about the same in LG G3 Lollipop update save for the Lollipop effects here and there, and — we are hopeful — should be far more exciting in its newer version in the G4, when LG’s software team uses material design style of Lollipop update at the maximum. Oh, that LG dialer app could finally look as great as it functions.

LG G4 Display

What’s the display size you’d expect in LG G4, the successor to 5.5″ LG G3? Especially when we tell you that we’ve heard LG finally getting keen on taking the Note 4 as its next target, having successfully taken the down the S5 of the great Galaxy S series with its LG G3 this year.

From what we’re hearing about LG G4 specifications, LG would finally bring its own stylus rocking flagship in G4 device this year — in stark contrast to last year’s mid-range effort in LG G3 stylus — to take down the Note 4, and also give Note 5 something to look upon on its release, even though its the G4 launch will collide with the S6.

What has surprised us with the rumored LG G4 specs is its display size, said to be only 5.3 inch. Yes, less by 0.2 inch from G3’s 5.5″ display, which in case you didn’t get, is a pretty BIG thing — simply because we have never ever seen a flagship go smaller, and more so because LG is reportedly taking aim at Note 4 (and Note 5 too because G4 is releasing mid-way through the release cycle of September-October every year of Galaxy Note series). But anyway, we know these are rumors, and things can get misheard and misinterpreted very easily, so let’s just move on for the time being to other specs the got leak.

The size apart, it’s said that G4 display will feature the same Quad HD resolution as last year. That’s fine because LG G3 was the first device to feature that super-resolution display, and this year’s flagships will only catch up with it.

A very very narrow frame design with minimal-est of bezel on the left and right side of display is also touted. We’ll know about this or sure only later when LG G4 gets official, or if a press render of the G4 leaks. G4 announcement which should be happening by Feb-March 2105.

LG G4 Processor

Now this is very exciting, because we talk here about Snapdragon 810 processor from Qualcomm, an 8-core 64-bit chipset with support for 450Mbps download speeds over LTE. Actually, Samsung has already took the limelight in this regard, when yesterday, it launched a new variant of Galaxy Note 4, making it the first device powered by the Snapdragon 810 processor, and capable of 300Mbps download right away on current networks.

Basically, Samsung’s move has almost guaranteed us the use of the same processor by LG, too, for its G4, and Samsung too for its Galaxy S6. Anything inferior will simply meet varying levels of dismay, apprehension, panic and horror among the most hardcore of Android fans.

The 64-bit Octa-core Snapdragon 810 chipset features four Cortex A-53 cores and four Cortex A57 cores, very similar to Samsung’s own Octa-core Exynos chipset, 5433.

LG G4 RAM and Storage

Want 4GB RAM? About time, right? It’s already there in Nexus 9, so why not in LG G4. Not because we need it desperately but because the OEMs can get us this. We’d eventually figure out the use of 4GB RAM, too, right? Good thing, it’s reported to feature in the G4.

32GB and 64GB models are being gossiped, along with the support for microSD card, and that’s it. Cool!

LG G4 Camera

While there is no mention — not even in rumors — of the laser tech that LG adopted for the G3, we think it will stay in G4 too. 20MP shooter is reported for G4, a massive increment from G3’s 13MP camera.

OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) is also said to be part of G4 camera features, which anyway is already obvious. Nothing else is being whispered about the camera at the moment.

LG G4 Software

Lollipop is a given. We don’t expect Google to release Android 5.1 or whatever is the next update except 5.0.x by the time LG G4 releases in expected launch of April-May 2015. More exciting will be the newer LG UI custom skin of the company, which should get more of material design touch in Lollipop update.

LG UI looks good already, some nifty material design additions would make it great. We would humbly request LG to pay specially attention to its dialer app, which works very good but looks absolutely opposite.

LG G4 Other Specs

Battery is going to get even more bigger, and thus better. 3500 mAh is being reported, which is extra 500 mAh on G3’s 3000 mAh battery.

That’s it about the LG G4 specs we got hold of. We will be sure to report you whatever new the rumor mill throws on us as regards LG G4, so stay in touch.

Wrap-up

Btw, the G4 looks pretty futuristic, no? 4GB RAM, 8-core 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor, 20MP laser camera and bingo, no 16GB model!

What do you say? If you have used G3, you simply wouldn’t buy a new device in 2015 without getting hold of G4, right?
