Rumor: Motorola G5S+ could be dubbed Moto G6 in China

Motorola G5S+

The Motorola Moto G5S and Moto G5S+ have been doing rounds on the internet for quite some time now. And, the latter is in the news once again.

This time around, the leak doesn’t reveal anything about the smartphone’s design or specs but sheds light on its naming convention.

Andri Yatim (@HeyAndri), a Twitter leakster while mocking the nomenclature of the smartphone in question, revealed that the Moto G5S+ will be dubbed as the Moto G6 in China.

His exact tweet read: “Internally #motorola call it the #motoGS, you guys call it the #motoG5S, China OEMS call it #motoG6, Lenovo says Moto G Special Edition.”

Of course, this could just be a speculation and the smartphone may end up being called the Moto G5S+ across all the markets. So, do take it with a pinch of salt.

In terms of specs, the Moto G5S+ will feature a 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 625 SoC, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of onboard storage, 13MP dual rear cameras, 8MP front-facing camera, and Android Nougat.

The smartphone is expected to be launched on July 25th alongside the Moto Z2 Force and Moto X4.
