How to Root Blu Vivo 5 and Install TWRP Recovery

Blu Vivo 5 has been out for a while and users have given it some rave reviews. However, surprisingly we haven’t seen much community development for the device yet.

But that should change starting today as developer Hisam_uddin over at xda has shared an unofficial build of TWRP recovery for Blu Vivo 5. The recovery version stands at 3.0.2.1-Z12 (seems like a port of a TWRP build in progress) and is fully functional as per the dev.

Once you’ve TWRP recovery installed on your Blu Vivo 5, simple flash the latest SuperSU zip beta from TWRP’s install menu and you’ll have root access on the device.

How to Root Blu Vivo 5 and Install TWRP Recovery

1. Install TWRP Recovery on your Blu Vivo 5 using either SP Flashtool or Mobile Uncle Tool.
   └ Get the TWRP recovery .img file from the download link above.
2. Boot into TWRP recovery and take a full backup (optional) from the recovery options.
3. Flash SuperSU zip from TWRP recovery.

That’s it. To verify root access download/install any root checker app from the Play Store.
