Quad Core and 2GB RAM on Galaxy S3? Yes, Koreans Have It!

The Koreans are the ones who are getting the best when it comes to the Galaxy S3, as the Korean variant for the carrier SK Telecom will pack the 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 4412 chipset with 2GB of RAM, and also 4G LTE support (LTE is the reason for the US variants not getting the quad-core variant).

Other specs will remain the same as the international variant, including a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD screen, 32GB of internal storage (no 16GB option this time), an 8 MP camera on the back and 1.9 MP camera on the front, Android 4.0.4 with Samsung specific software features like Smart Stay, Direct Call, etc, and a 2100mAh battery.

The release date or pricing details aren’t available yet, but should get announced soon. I’m pretty sure people are wishing they were in Korea now after reading this.

  3. I’m going for this package for sure. 32GB and 2GB ram 🙂

How hard can it be to get one imported to Europe?
Altough we only have HSDPA in whole of the Netherlands, there will be LTE coverage by the end of the year.

  13. I am so pissed at Samsung for this. They’re releasing a 2GB version in the US, but with a dual-core CPU instead of the quad-core one. Why on Earth downgrade the CPU to add more RAM? And why are they playing games with us? If the Galaxy S series weren’t so good I would stop buying from them right now 🙁

Does anyone know when the 2GB quad-core version will hit Europe? Any chance it might happen till Christmas? If so, will ordering one from Korea cost a lot and will it work with European SIM cards?

    1. “Quad Core” doesn’t neccesarily mean that it is better than dual. It depends on the clock speed (Mhz/Ghz) and if the apps/firmware supports 4 cores or not. To be honest with you, I’d (And most others who know their stuff) rather have an 1.8Ghz dual core in my S3 than a 1.4Ghz Quad… But yeah… Samsung focused on customers like yourself who are not quite as informed as others and thats why they went for the less potent 1.4 Quad core than the faster 1.8 Dual core… People now days are getting hit with so much information and marketing terms that they are often mis-informed…
