If you recently went ahead and got yourself a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, and are now wishing you had waited and got the Samsung Nexus 10 with Android 4.2 instead, hang on there for a bit. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is on the way for the Note 10.1, and Samsung seems to have included a bonus package of goodies for you, called the Premium Suite, which is going to make you want to show off your Galaxy Note 10.1 all over again. The XXBLJ9 Jelly Bean update has already started rolling out in some parts of the world, and it shouldn’t be too long before all Note 10.1 users get it.
In addition to the default improvements and features that Jelly Bean comes with, like Project Butter, Google Now, expandable notifications et al, Galaxy Note 10.1 owners will also be blessed with what Samsung has dubbed as the Premium Suite, which will add some cool new multi-tasking and productivity improvement device to your slate.
Extended Multi-window functionality will allow as many as 16 different apps to be opened at the same time, and each of them can be moved around, resized or even pinned to the homescreen, just like you could on a standard desktop computer. Also included is Air View which lets you preview events or emails, by just hovering the S Pen over it, without having to actually open the event.
Other goodies include Easy Clip, Paper Artist, Photo Note, Quick Command, as well as a beefed up S Note app. Those of you got this device specifically for the multi-tasking and productivity features that Samsung promoted so much, should be happy with this new addition. Here’s a short video clip from Samsung which shows all of the new features coming with the Jelly Bean update in action.
If you haven’t got the Jelly Bean update yet, and are getting impatient after watching this, you can refer to this guide to manually download and update your Galaxy Note 10.1 to Android 4.1.
